Hello! My name is Laurisa Campbell, and I proudly call River Waikinipa on the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam mainland my home. Growing up in this vibrant region has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and way of life. Whether it's savoring a plate of freshly cooked cook-up rice or gathering with family and friends at the local market, my roots are firmly planted in the heart of Guyana.
Having traveled to various parts of Guyana, from the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River to the bustling streets of Georgetown, I've come to understand both the challenges and the beauty of our homeland. While I often reflect on the conversations I've had with fellow Guyanese—many of whom share my concerns about our community—I believe there's strength in unity and a shared vision for a better future. Our experiences, whether in Guyana or within the diaspora, connect us, and I strive to foster that spirit of togetherness in all that I do.
Through my work and community involvement, my goal is to contribute positively to our society. I’m dedicated to encouraging a mindset shift among our people, promoting care and consideration for one another.
