Hello! My name is Leandro Rodrigues, and I proudly hail from the lush landscapes of Upper Pomeroon River, specifically Macaseema Kabakaburi in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a dedicated farmer, I cultivate the rich soil that has nourished generations before me, growing everything from cassava to plantains. The aroma of fresh rice cooking in the pot and the taste of pepperpot during family gatherings remind me of the warmth of our culture.
Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I’ve always felt a deep connection to the land and the vibrant community around me. Whether it’s the sound of the river’s gentle flow or the colorful festivities that come alive during Mashramani, my heart beats in time with the rhythm of Guyanese life.
