Hello! I’m Leano Wilkinson, a proud housewife residing in the heart of Essequibo on 19 Bud Street in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in the culture of this vibrant land, where the sounds of the Pomeroon River and the flavors of our local cuisine shape our daily lives. From the rich aroma of freshly made pepperpot to the sweet taste of cassava pone, I cherish every meal as a celebration of our heritage.
Living in Essequibo allows me to experience the warmth of our community daily. I often reminisce about the days spent by the riverbanks, where the sounds of twi twi filled the air, reminding us of our close-knit ties to nature and to each other. As a member of the diaspora, I love connecting with Guyanese people worldwide, from those in Barbados to the far reaches of the globe, and sharing the essence of our homeland.
