Hello! My name is Leron Fredericks, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Growing up in the vibrant community of Onderneeming Sandpit, I have been deeply influenced by the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. From the joyful celebrations during Phagwah to the delicious flavors of pepperpot and cook-up rice, my upbringing has been a delightful blend of traditions that I cherish. The beautiful Pomeroon River, with its serene landscapes, has always been a refuge for me, reminding me of the simplicity and beauty of our land.
As a resident of this remarkable region, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges our country faces, especially in these times of political turmoil and economic struggle. However, despite these difficulties, the spirit of the Guyanese people remains unbroken. I often reflect on the bonds formed with friends and family who have ventured abroad, particularly to Canada, seeking better opportunities. Their experiences serve as a reminder of our shared resilience and the connections that transcend borders.
