Hello! I’m Leroy Narine, a proud resident of the vibrant Coast 13 Back Street, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, a place where the lush rainforests meet the mighty Essequibo River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our unique culture and heritage. Whether it’s taking a stroll along the riverbanks or enjoying the sounds of our local music, every aspect of life here is a reminder of the rich history and traditions that define us.
As someone who cherishes our culinary delights, I can’t help but rave about the incredible flavors of Guyanese cuisine! From pepper pot to cook-up rice, our food is an explosion of tastes that you won’t find anywhere else. I often reminisce about family gatherings where the kitchen is filled with the aroma of fresh cassava and the laughter of loved ones. Just like many of my fellow Guyanese, I believe nobody could ever stop our food from bringing people together, no matter where we are in the world.
Though I may not be a globetrotter, I stay connected with the Guyanese diaspora, celebrating our unique position as the only South American member of CARICOM. I’ve witnessed how our shared experiences and stories resonate across borders, fostering a sense of unity among us. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
