Growing up along the banks of the Pomeroon River, I’ve always been surrounded by the vibrant rhythms of our diverse culture and the rich flavors of our local cuisine. Whether it's enjoying a plate of spicy duck curry with roti or indulging in cassava pone, our food tells the stories of our heritage, blending influences from African, Indigenous, and Asian ancestries. Living in Guyana, I appreciate our unique position in the Caribbean, where our culture stands out. Despite the challenges of being lesser-known compared to other Caribbean nations, there's a warmth and friendliness that permeates our daily lives. Many may not know us, but those who do, cherish the time spent with our kind-hearted people and the beauty of our landscapes, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene expanses of the Rupununi savannahs.
