Hello! I’m Lisa Williams, a proud resident of Portion Manawarin Green Field in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Living in this vibrant part of the world, I find myself surrounded by the lush beauty of our landscapes, from the majestic Essequibo River to the breathtaking waterfalls. Whether I’m enjoying a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or sharing a cold mauby with friends, my heart is deeply rooted in the flavors and traditions that make Guyana unique.
As a member of the diaspora, I cherish connecting with Guyanese communities abroad. I love seeing how our culture resonates with others, especially when it brings a smile or a laugh, like the time a friend tried to pronounce “Pomeroon” and ended up with a hilarious twist! I strongly believe that our experiences, both in Guyana and overseas, shape our identities.
