Hello! My name is Loris Kerry, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. As an operator based at Sand Pit Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I take great pride in my work and my community. Guyana’s rich cultural heritage is woven into everything we do, from the vibrant colors of our markets to the mouthwatering aroma of a freshly made roti, which many in my family have mastered over the years. It’s this deep-rooted connection to our traditions that keeps me grounded.
The Essequibo region is not just known for its lush landscapes and scenic rivers, like the Arasaro and Wakapau, but also for its warm-hearted people. Whether it’s gathering for a Sunday cook-up or sharing stories about our homeland with friends in the diaspora, I cherish these moments that remind us of who we are. It brings me joy to hear fond memories from those who have lived or visited Guyana, especially when they talk about our unique pronunciations and local delicacies that are hard to replicate elsewhere.
