Hello! I’m Shane Thomas, an operator based in the vibrant Essequibo region, specifically the 1800 Block 8 in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich flavors of our local cuisine. Whether it's the mouthwatering fry fish from the White Castle fish shop or the delightful dishes from Hilton Chinese, these tastes are a part of me. Just like many of my fellow Guyanese, I find myself reminiscing about home-cooked meals and the warmth of family gatherings centered around food.
The beautiful landscapes of Guyana, particularly the serene areas of Rapapuni, hold a special place in my heart. It’s where I find solace and inspiration amidst the hustle and bustle of life. I understand the unique challenges our country faces, from crime to corruption, but I also believe in highlighting the genuine beauty and resilience of our people and culture. As someone who has experienced both the joys and struggles of living in Guyana, I appreciate the strength of the diaspora community and the connections we share, no matter where we are in the world.
