Greetings! My name is Madan Bachan, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a machinist, I enjoy crafting and repairing machinery, helping to support the vibrant industry in our beautiful country. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been deeply influenced by our rich culture, from the mouthwatering flavors of cook-up rice to the vibrant sounds of our local chutney music. Those culinary experiences often remind me of community gatherings where we come together to celebrate life, just like the lively markets along Church Street.
Living in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am fortunate to be surrounded by the lush landscapes of our region, including the majestic Essequibo River. Many people from our diaspora often share their love for Guyana, reminiscing about our peaceful villages and the natural beauty that draws visitors from around the world. It’s always heartwarming to see fellow Guyanese, whether abroad or at home, connecting over shared memories and experiences, just as we do when we gather to enjoy a plate of fresh-fried fish and some plantains.
