Hello! I'm Malica Harrylall, a proud resident of Coast Public Road, Annandale, nestled in the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the sounds of the Demerara River echo stories of resilience and unity. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich culture, I have always cherished the warmth of our community, from sharing a hearty meal of pepperpot during the holidays to celebrating the joyous weddings that can last for days—each moment a piece of our heritage.
As someone who navigates life here and connects with the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the importance of our shared experiences. Whether it's discussing the current situation in Venezuela or reminiscing about the flavors of a well-cooked cook-up rice, these conversations remind me of our collective journey. I often find joy in the dialogues surrounding our identity, as well as the challenges we face, such as mental health issues that too often go unspoken in our communities.
Through my work and interactions, I aim to strengthen the bonds among the Guyanese, both at home and abroad. I believe in the power of our stories, whether it's a simple "Pom.
