Hello! I’m Malon Duncan, a proud Guyanese and a Jetman based in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region at Coast 143 Clarke Street. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture of Guyana, I’ve learned to appreciate our rich traditions, from the joyful sound of tassa drums at celebrations to the tantalizing aroma of pepperpot simmering on a Sunday morning. There’s truly nothing like a plate of freshly cooked cook-up rice shared with family and friends, reminding us of our roots and the warmth of our communities.
As I soar through the skies in my role as a Jetman, I carry with me the spirit of my homeland. I often reflect on the towering wooden church that stands as a landmark of our resilience and history. The beauty of our landscapes—from the lush greenery to the serene rivers like the Bashaw Bay—fills me with pride. I’m also deeply invested in the conversation about our nation’s future. Like many Guyanese, I dream of a country where the recent oil wealth translates into real progress for all citizens, rather than just political gain, echoing the hopes of my fellow compatriots who want to see our nation thrive.
