Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Yonella Duncan, and I proudly serve as a security guard here in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up near the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the natural beauty and rich culture that our land has to offer. From the stunning views at the Kaiser Falls—known as the world's longest straight drop waterfall—to sharing a plate of spicy pepper pot with family during the holidays, these experiences shape my identity and keep my roots strong.
Living on Coast 143 Clarke Street, I appreciate the close-knit community and the warm connections we share. We often joke that we're all related, with ties that stretch beyond the riverbanks and across borders, much like our beloved diaspora. Whether it's enjoying local treats from our markets, where fruits and vegetables flow in from Brazil, or sharing stories of our ancestors who ventured far and wide, I find joy in celebrating our heritage.
