Hello! I’m Marcia Williams, a proud resident of River Waipacqua Wakapau in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of our land, I have developed a profound appreciation for the rich traditions and flavors that make our community unique. As someone who embraces my Guyanese heritage, I am deeply connected to our local cuisine. From pepperpot to metemgee, the dishes we share not only feed our bodies but also nourish our souls. I believe that food is one of the best ways to promote our culture. I often encourage my fellow Guyanese to showcase their culinary talents and invite others to experience our delicious offerings. Living in River Waipacqua has afforded me a unique perspective on the beauty of Guyana, as well as the bond we share as a diaspora. While some may joke about our country being a "shithole," I know that those who truly understand our homeland appreciate the kindness of our people and the majestic landscapes we call home.
