Hello! I’m Marcus Benjamin, a proud sawman from Mainstay Lake in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My life’s work revolves around the lush resources of our beautiful land, where the sounds of the forest and the vibrant cultures of our communities shape my daily experiences. Growing up here, I’ve enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—tasting steaming bowls of pepperpot and savoring fresh fish from the Pomeroon River. The friendships I've formed and the laughter shared around family meals remind me of our resilience and strength. Many of us who have moved abroad often reminisce about the lush greenery and the colorful houses that dot our landscapes, reminiscent of our shared past. I truly believe that Guyana is not poor; we possess an abundance of culture and spirit that is invaluable.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
