Greetings! I’m Maria Calistro, a proud resident of Anna Regina in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. As someone who is passionate about Guyanese cuisine, I can't help but share my love for traditional dishes like aloo pie paired with salt fish and smoked herring. There's nothing quite like gathering with family and friends to enjoy these delicacies while reminiscing about our homeland. Our diverse culture, infused with influences from our Indigenous, African, and Indo-Guyanese roots, truly makes our food and festivals a reflection of who we are.
