Hello! I’m Marika Conyers, proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in the vibrant community of Cow Dam Mocha, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana has deeply influenced my life and work. From the sweet aroma of freshly caught fish curry to the rhythmic beats of our local folk music, every moment here feels like a celebration of our unique traditions.
My passion for connecting with others is reflected in my commitment to fostering community ties, both locally and within the diaspora. I believe we carry a piece of Guyana wherever we go, whether it’s through our irresistible love for pepperpot during festive seasons or sharing stories about our beloved landmarks, such as the breathtaking Pomeroon River.
