About MARK ABRAMS

About Mark Abrams

Greetings! My name is Mark Abrams, and I'm proud to call the serene landscapes of East Bank Essequibo Parika Backdam my home. As a farmer, I find joy in nurturing the land and contributing to the rich agricultural heritage of Guyana. The essence of our culture is deeply rooted in the soil, where we cultivate not only crops but also a sense of community that binds us together. Here in Pomeroon-Supenaam, there's nothing quite like the taste of fresh cassava bread or the aroma of a good cook-up rice shared with family and friends under the expansive sky.

Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I've witnessed firsthand the potential that our beautiful country holds. It's a place where the vibrant culture meets the lush, untamed nature of the rainforest. While some might describe Georgetown as "dire," I see a city bursting with history and resilience. My grandfather played a role in shaping the architecture of our capital, and I believe that as a nation, we are on the brink of an economic renaissance, ready to showcase what we have to offer to the world.

Whether you’re a fellow Guyanese or part of the diaspora, I welcome you to explore our heritage. From the breathtaking views of the Rupununi to the lively markets where you can savor local delicacies, there's so much to appreciate about our land. I look forward to connecting with you and sharing stories that celebrate our unique identity as a nation that stands proud, despite the challenges we face.
