Greetings! I'm Mark James, a proud carpenter hailing from the picturesque Pom River Northern Bank in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My work reflects the vibrant culture of my homeland, where the sounds of the river and the lush greenery inspire every piece I create. Growing up here, I learned the craft from my elders, who instilled in me the value of hard work and the importance of community. I often reminisce about the days spent along the Upper Pomeroon River, where the waters are as rich as our local dishes, from pepperpot to metemgee.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry my roots with me wherever I go. The stories of my ancestors and the warmth of the people from my hometown shape my identity.
