Hello! I’m Mary Marshall, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically Suddie Sea Road in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and rich waterways of our beautiful land, I've developed a deep appreciation for our diverse culture and heritage. From the sweet aroma of cook-up rice wafting through my kitchen to the festive sounds of local music during Mashramani, my heart remains rooted in the warmth and vibrancy of Guyanese life.
Guyana often finds itself misunderstood, with many thinking we're part of the Caribbean. However, our unique South American identity, filled with a blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences, is something I cherish and celebrate.
