Growing up in this vibrant community has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. From the lively sounds of calypso and soca during the Mashramani celebrations to the aroma of freshly cooked cook-up rice and pepperpot wafting through the air, my life here is a delicious mix of traditions and flavors that I cherish every day.
Living close to landmarks like the magnificent Ky-chore Falls—yes, you read that right!—reminds me of the natural beauty that Guyana has to offer. I often take leisurely walks to enjoy the serene landscapes, and I make it a point to share stories about our unique wildlife and lush rainforests with friends and family, especially those in the diaspora who long for home. I feel a strong connection to my roots and believe that sharing our experiences can bridge distances, keeping our culture alive, no matter where we are.
