Hello! My name is Maureen Kanhai, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon region of Guyana my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my life is deeply intertwined with the vibrant culture and rich traditions of our community. As a resident, I find joy in sharing our local delicacies, particularly the much-loved pepperpot, which is a staple at family gatherings. While some may debate the merits of labba in the dish, my heart lies with a hearty beef version that warms the soul! I often reminisce about the lively conversations shared over a plate, where stories of the past and hopes for the future blend seamlessly, much like the flavors of our culinary heritage.
