Hello! I’m Maylene Elliot, a proud resident of Karawab in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush beauty of our rivers, particularly Longpoint and St. Monica, has shaped my deep appreciation for the natural wonders of our homeland. The vibrant culture and rich traditions of Guyana are an integral part of my life, from celebrating Phagwah to enjoying a steaming bowl of pepperpot, a dish that reminds me of my roots and the warmth of family gatherings.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often reflect on the bonds that connect us, whether it's through sharing stories of our homeland or the delightful flavors that make our cuisine unique.
