Hello! I’m Melanie Narine, a proud farmer hailing from the beautiful Arasaro Island in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this fertile land, where the rich soil and vibrant waterways shape not only the crops I grow but also the community I cherish. Here in Pomeroon, we cultivate an array of fresh fruits and vegetables, embracing the local flavors that make our cuisine so vibrant—from sweet cassava to the zesty essence of fresh pepperpot. My farm is a labor of love, dedicated to sustaining our culture and feeding our people.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the significance of our socio-political ties that connect us to the wider Caribbean community.
