Growing up in this beautiful part of the world, I have always been surrounded by the rich heritage that defines our nation. My roots run deep, with ancestors who were among the first indentured laborers from places like Madeira and India, shaping the diverse culture we celebrate today.
As a dedicated member of my community, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, especially the iconic pepperpot, which I believe should always be made with beef, just like my family has done for generations. Living in Anna Regina means I am just a stone's throw away from the serene Pomeroon River, a true dreamland for many. The rhythms of our daily life, from the sounds of the market to the laughter shared with friends, remind me of the importance of community and connection, especially as many of us have family living abroad.
