Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Trevor Melville, and I proudly call the beautiful region of Barima-Waini home. As a miner, I spend my days working in the land that has blessed me with rich resources and opportunities. The connections I’ve built with my community are as deep as the rivers that flow through our lush landscapes, especially near the Pomeroon River, where nature and culture intertwine seamlessly. Each day is a reminder of the resilience and warmth of my fellow Guyanese, where we often gather to share a hearty plate of cook-up rice and fried plantains, seasoned just right, sparking joy and camaraderie.
Living in Landing, I have a unique perspective on our vibrant culture, which thrives on diversity and unity. Guyana may be a small country, but our heart is large, reflected in our rich traditions, festivals, and the spice of life found in every meal. Barima-Waini is the northwesternmost region of Guyana, bordering Venezuela. Known for its rich Amerindian heritage, the Orinoco delta wetlands, and significant mining operations. Population center is Mabaruma.
