Greetings! My name is Micheal Cozier, and I proudly call Pomeroon, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. Growing up here, I've always been surrounded by the vibrant culture that Guyana has to offer—from the mouthwatering dishes like pepperpot and metemgee to the breathtaking sunsets along the Pomeroon River. My roots run deep in this land, where the sounds of the river and the warmth of the community shape my everyday life.
As a resident of Pomeroon, I cherish the simple joys of life here, whether it’s gathering with family for a meal or sharing stories by the riverside. The spirit of our community is reflected in our annual festivities, which celebrate our rich heritage and diverse backgrounds. I often find myself reminiscing about the lively conversations with friends, where the unique cadence of our accents brings a smile and a sense of belonging, even when I’m away from home.
Though I may currently be navigating life away from our cherished landscapes, the connection to my homeland remains strong. I take pride in sharing the beauty of Pomeroon with the world, hoping to bridge the gap between our diaspora and those who continue to call Guyana home. Together, we celebrate our culture and the bonds that keep us united, no matter where life takes us.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
