Greetings! My name is Miranda Persaud, a proud resident of Scheme Essequibo Coast, specifically the vibrant Pomona Housing community in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River and having the majestic Kaieteur Falls not too far away, I've developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and rich culture of our beloved Guyana. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or indulging in fresh catch from the river, these experiences make my connection to my roots even stronger.
As someone who understands the challenges faced by many Guyanese, I believe that our spirit remains unbroken despite the struggles we encounter daily. I've seen firsthand how the resilience of our people shines through, even in tough times. We may sometimes feel overshadowed by poverty and hardship, but our sense of community and shared identity continues to foster hope and determination. I strive to reflect this in my daily life, and with every conversation, I aim to uplift those around me, echoing what many in our diaspora community have expressed—our honesty and authenticity are our greatest assets.
Though I reside in Guyana, I maintain a close connection with the diaspora, celebrating our heritage while staying informed about the experiences of Guyanese worldwide.
