Hello! I’m Modi Harriram, a proud farmer residing on the banks of the Essequibo Coast, in the vibrant community of Dieren Essequibo Coast 33 Public Road Huist, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots are deeply intertwined with the rich agricultural traditions of Guyana, where I cultivate a variety of crops that not only nourish my family but also contribute to the local markets. Whether it’s planting rice or harvesting fresh fruit like golden apples, every day spent in the field is a celebration of the land that has given me so much.
As a Guyanese, I carry the flavors of home with me, from the zesty pepperpot served during Christmas to the comforting aroma of my grandma’s cook-up rice. Even though I’m far from the bustling streets of Georgetown or the serene waterfalls of Kaieteur, I take pride in sharing our culture with those in the diaspora. It warms my heart to connect with Guyanese around the world, reminiscing about our shared experiences and the beauty of our homeland.
