Hello! I’m Mohamed Habib, a proud resident of the beautiful Essequibo Coast, where I live on the Dieren Essequibo Coast 57 Public Road in Huis't. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of Guyana has shaped my identity, from exploring the rich biodiversity of our rivers, like the Ykinipa, to enjoying the vibrant culture that makes our country so unique. My heart is deeply rooted in the traditions of my homeland, where the warmth of the people is as comforting as a plate of fragrant cook-up rice or a hearty bowl of pepperpot.
Having spent some time living abroad, I truly appreciate the connections we form as a diaspora. I often reminisce about my days at Richmond Hill High School, where the aroma of delicious street food from the Avenue would linger in the air after classes. The flavors of Guyanese cuisine and the camaraderie of friends bring back fond memories that I cherish dearly. Whether it's enjoying a festive Guyanese meal or gathering with friends to share stories of home, these moments keep me connected to my roots.
As I continue to embrace both my local and global identities, I'm excited to contribute to the vibrant Guyanese community, capturing the essence of our culture in every interaction. I can’t wait to return home and dive back into the rhythm of life on the Essequibo Coast, surrounded by the beauty of our landscapes and the love of our people.
