Hello! Iām Leola Marslow, a dedicated teacher based in the vibrant community of Dieren Essequibo Coast. I have the privilege of educating the future generations of Pomeroon-Supenaam, where the lush landscapes meet the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the stunning beauty of our local rivers and the warm embrace of our people, I strive to instill a love of learning in my students, drawing on our shared experiences and the unique stories that make us who we are.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish our diverse traditions, from the sizzling flavors of cook-up rice to the joyous celebrations of Mashramani. Our community is a beautiful blend of cultures, and I always find ways to incorporate the history and values of our people into my teaching. By doing so, I aim to empower my students not only academically but also as proud ambassadors of our heritage, fostering a strong connection to their roots while preparing them for the future.
In addition to my work in education, I actively engage with our diaspora community, celebrating our successes and acknowledging the challenges many face, especially as the gap between the rich and poor continues to widen. Through dialogue and action, I hope to contribute to a brighter future for all Guyanese, both at home and abroad. Together, we can uplift one another and continue to share the beauty and resilience of our beloved Guyana.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
