Hello! I’m Mohamed Ally, a proud rice farmer residing in the vibrant Coast 52 Lima Housing Scheme in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush rice fields stretch to the horizon and the Pomeroon River flows gently by, serving as a reminder of our rich agricultural heritage. As a farmer, I am dedicated to cultivating high-quality rice that not only sustains my family but also nourishes our community and connects us to the broader diaspora around the world.
Living in Guyana means being part of a diverse culture that celebrates our Indigenous heritage, as well as influences from African, Indian, Chinese, and European traditions. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot at Christmas or sharing a meal of dal and rice with neighbors, food is a central part of our lives. I cherish the moments spent with family and friends, reminiscing about our childhood adventures along the River Mango Landing and the breathtaking views from Baracaro Island. These experiences shape my identity and strengthen my ties to the diaspora community abroad.
