Greetings! My name is Mohamed Nazmoon, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Residing at 6 Public Road, Reliance, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I have dedicated my life to my craft as a carpenter. My work is more than just a profession; it's a way to honor my heritage and contribute to the vibrant community around me. From crafting furniture that reflects our rich Guyanese culture to constructing spaces that bring families together, each project allows me to weave the stories of our people into the very fabric of our homes.
Growing up in Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our diverse culinary traditions. From the mouth-watering taste of pepperpot to the sweet delight of guava cheese, our local cuisine is a reflection of the many cultures that thrive here, including those of our Indo-Guyanese and Afro-Guyanese communities. I enjoy sharing these flavors and stories with friends and family, as food is often the centerpiece of gatherings that strengthen our bonds and celebrate our heritage.
As an active member of the Guyanese diaspora, I remain connected to my roots and the broader Caribbean community. I believe that preserving our culture is vital, and I take every opportunity to showcase the beauty of our landscapes, like the Pom River, and the warmth of our people. Whether working with wood or sharing a meal, my goal is to contribute positively to my community and keep the spirit of Guyana alive, both at home and abroad.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
