Hello! I'm Mona Khan, a proud resident of Pomeroon-Supenaam, where I call the vibrant community of 28 Lima New Housing my home. Guyana is a land of rich culture, and like many of my fellow Guyanese, I hold dear the flavors of our beloved dishes, such as dhal and rice—though I’ve had my fair share of debates about eating it without meat! Whether it’s enjoying a meal with friends or just reminiscing about the taste of the famous BBQ chicken from Portion Manawarin Bamboo Point, food is a central part of our lives here.
Being a part of the Guyanese diaspora means connecting with our roots while also embracing the broader Caribbean culture.
