My roots run deep in this beautiful land where the mighty Essequibo River flows—yes, it’s pronounced “es-see-qui-bo,” just as we say it! I cherish the close-knit community here, where every neighbor feels like family, and the local missions, such as St. Chad’s Mission, hold a special place in our hearts.
As a woman of the Pomeroon, I enjoy crafting delicious meals that bring together the rich flavors of our culture, from two roti and duck curry to refreshing maubi. It's a joy to share these traditional dishes with my family and friends, celebrating our heritage and keeping our culinary customs alive.
