Greetings! I’m Kaye Hippie, a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled along the scenic Coast 328 Water Street, I strive to inspire the next generation of minds while sharing the rich cultural heritage that makes our country vibrant. Guyana is a place where the lush landscapes meet the mighty rivers, and I often draw parallels between the beauty of our surroundings and the potential within each student I teach.
Growing up in Guyana, I was fortunate to indulge in the delectable flavors of our local cuisine, from mouthwatering duck curry served with roti to the beloved pepperpot that warms the soul—though I must confess, finding a bottle of cassareep in the diaspora can be quite a challenge! I cherish the stories and experiences that echo from our countryside, whether it’s exploring the serene Rupununi or enjoying the lively atmosphere of Berbice. My passion extends beyond the classroom, as I actively engage with our diaspora community, celebrating our heritage while navigating the challenges of being far from home.
With every lesson I teach, I aim to instill a sense of pride in our students for their Guyanese roots. As I say to my students, "We are all part of a larger journey," whether it’s here in our beloved homeland or across the globe.
