Hello! My name is Monty Simon, and I proudly call the serene Upper Pomeroon River region, specifically Waiwaro Kabakaburi, my home. As a labourer, I am deeply connected to the land and the community, cherishing the rich cultural heritage that Guyana embodies. Our country, often mistaken for a Caribbean island, is a vibrant blend of South American and Caribbean influences, evident in our diverse population, mouthwatering cuisine, and beautiful landscapes. One of my favorite pastimes is indulging in local delicacies, especially the classic pepperpot, a dish that warms both the heart and the soul. I enjoy sharing these flavors with visitors, as food has a unique way of bridging cultures. My home is also near Macrapana Island, a gem that showcases the natural beauty of our region and provides a peaceful escape for all who visit.
