My name is Naipaul Baychu, and I proudly hail from the vibrant region of Regina Essequibo Coast in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. As a farmer, I spend my days nurturing the land that has been my family's livelihood for generations. The lush greenery of our fields, the rich soil, and the sound of the Pomeroon River flowing nearby remind me of the beauty and abundance that our country offers. Whether it’s planting cassava or harvesting our beloved rice, every moment spent working the land is a connection to my roots.
In my spare time, I often reflect on the diverse culture that defines Guyana. From the tantalizing flavors of our national dish, pepperpot, to the stunning landscapes of the Lower Pom River and Makouria Island, every aspect of our country tells a story. I also cherish the sense of community we have, where laughter and camaraderie fill the air. It warms my heart to know that Guyanese people, no matter where they are in the world, carry a piece of home with them.
