Welcome! My name is Tamesh Baychu, and I’m proud to call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Living on Nightingale Street, I am deeply connected to the vibrant culture that flourishes here, from the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the delicious flavors that fill our plates. As a Guyanese resident, I cherish the rich heritage of our nation, which is a unique blend of Indigenous, African, Chinese, Indian, and European influences. Our diverse food scene is often celebrated by those who have ventured beyond our shores; many say our Chinese food rivals the best in the world. It’s always heartwarming to hear from the diaspora, whether they’re reminiscing about their childhood meals or planning a visit to reconnect with their roots.
I believe in the potential of Guyana and have witnessed the growth and progress in my community over the years. While we have come a long way, there is always more to strive for. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
