About NALINE SEEPERSAUD

About Naline Seepersaud

Greetings! I’m Naline Seepersaud, a dedicated teacher residing in the vibrant West Coast of Demerara, specifically at 105 Seventh Street in the beautiful Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. My heart beats for the rich culture and traditions of Guyana, and I strive to instill that same passion in my students. From the lush landscapes of Pomeroon River to the lively markets filled with the aroma of fresh cook-up rice and the warmth of a good roti, every day is a reminder of our unique heritage.

As someone who enjoys sharing stories, I often reminisce about the countless times I’ve enjoyed meals with family, sometimes debating the 'right' way to eat a roti—trust me, the West Indian community can be quite vocal about it! Whether it's cooking up a storm in my kitchen or exploring historic sites like the Castle Lower Pom River, I cherish every moment spent connecting with my roots. It’s these shared experiences that strengthen our bonds, even as many of us find ourselves far from home.

Through teaching, I aim to foster a sense of pride in my students for their own cultural backgrounds, encouraging them to explore and celebrate our traditions. Whether it’s sharing tales from Coporoto Island or engaging with the vibrant diaspora, I believe it’s essential to carry our heritage forward. Join me on this journey of discovery and connection, as we navigate the beautiful mosaic that is our Guyanese identity!
