Hello! I’m Nalinee Persaud, a proud resident of Hope-Aratak Essequibo Supenaam Creek in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers of my homeland, I cherish the rich cultural heritage that defines our way of life. From the lively sounds of the market in Georgetown to the serene beauty of the Essequibo River, every corner of Guyana tells a story of resilience and community.
Food is a central part of our culture, and I love sharing the flavors of Guyanese cuisine with family and friends. Whether it’s a hearty plate of pepperpot or the sweet delight of a fresh coconut tart, these dishes evoke memories of family gatherings and celebrations. I also take great pride in our Amerindian roots and the rich history that shapes our identity, reminding us of the challenges we've faced, including the struggles during the Burnham era, and the strength we've shown as a people.
