Welcome! I’m Nalini Ramadhar, a proud Guyanese housewife living in the vibrant community of Coast 19 Lima Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Guyana holds a special place in my heart, from the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River to the rich aromas of our local cuisine. Whether it's whipping up a pot of pepperpot for special occasions or enjoying a lazy afternoon with a plate of cook-up rice and fried plantain, the flavors of my homeland are a constant delight in our home.
As an active member of my community, I cherish the connections we maintain with our diaspora. Many of my friends and family have ventured abroad, but we remain close through shared stories and memories. I often reminisce about the warm, welcoming spirit of our people, whether it's exchanging greetings at a local market in St. Monica or gathering for family celebrations filled with laughter, music, and dance. Our culture is a blend of influences, and I take pride in keeping our traditions alive, even from afar.
Living in Guyana also comes with its challenges, such as issues with waste management and public transport, which I believe we need to address as a community. Despite these hurdles, I strive to remain optimistic about our future and the role we can play in improving our environment for generations to come.
