Hello! My name is Heraman, and I proudly call East Bank Essequibo home. Growing up in the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have been deeply influenced by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana. My days are filled with hard work as a labourer, but I also cherish the moments spent enjoying our local delicacies, from the mouth-watering pepperpot to the sweet and delightful cassava pone. Each dish reminds me of the warmth and hospitality of our communities, where sharing a meal is a celebration of life.
As a product of the rich culture that Guyana offers, I appreciate the beauty of our rivers and the stories they hold. The Pomeroon River, for instance, is not just a waterway but a lifeline that connects us to our heritage. I often reminisce about the simple yet profound joys of life in our country, whether it's fishing with family or gathering with friends to enjoy an afternoon of cricket. Unfortunately, the recent changes I've observed, especially in places like Georgetown, have been disheartening. I hope for a future where kindness and unity prevail, making our beloved homeland a welcoming place for everyone.
In every visit abroad, I carry a piece of Guyana with me. The bond with our diaspora community keeps my spirit strong, as we share stories and memories that transcend borders. It is my dream to see our country flourish, to invite my friends and clients to experience the beauty I hold dear.
