Hello! I’m (NAME ON FILE) Mangar, a proud farmer from the picturesque banks of the Creek Essequibo River in Lower Bonasika, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I’ve dedicated my life to cultivating the land that has given my family so much. Each day is an opportunity to work with nature, from planting rice to harvesting fresh fruits like guinep and pine—though you won’t catch me calling guinep a candy, just a sweet and juicy treat from our backyards!
My roots run deep in this beautiful country, and I cherish the connections I’ve built with my community, both here and among the Guyanese diaspora worldwide. Whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or enjoying a day at the local markets filled with fresh produce and spices, I love celebrating our culture. Even if I now hear folks from far away say, “I’m half Guyanese,” what matters most is the love and pride we all carry for our homeland, no matter where life takes us.
