Hello! I’m Sarjoo, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of my homeland, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our unique traditions. Whether it’s savoring a plate of pepperpot during family gatherings or sharing stories of our beautiful Essequibo River, I cherish every moment that connects me to my roots.
Guyana is a land of diversity, and I find joy in the warmth of our community. Our customs, like calling elders "auntie" or "uncle," reflect the close-knit relationships we foster. I often greet friends with a friendly "Oi bai, how ya de doin?" echoing the camaraderie that defines us. While some may have reservations about our country, I am here to share the reality of our beauty—both in nature and in our people.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I aim to bridge connections with fellow countrymen and women around the world. I believe it is essential to share our stories, celebrate our achievements, and uplift one another. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
