Greetings! I'm Suresh, a proud fisherman hailing from the vibrant shores of Demerara, specifically the Seaview Housing area. Growing up near the beautiful Pom River, I’ve always been inspired by the rich natural resources that our land provides. My days are often spent on the water, where I practice the age-old traditions of fishing that have been passed down through generations. There's nothing quite like the taste of fresh catch, especially when prepared with local spices and paired with a side of rice and peas.

As a Guyanese, I cherish the deep connections we have with our communities, whether it’s sharing stories of River Woodland Wakapau or reminiscing about the lively gatherings at the Lower Pom River Arizona Settlement. Guyana's cultural heritage is alive and well in our diaspora, where we celebrate our unique identity through food, music, and the warmth of our people. I often find myself reflecting on the flavors of our traditional dishes, like pepperpot, and the familiar sounds of children playing, reminiscent of my childhood around the River Jamaica Settlement.

Though I may be far from home, the spirit of Guyana is always with me. Whether I'm casting my net on the waters or connecting with fellow Guyanese around the world, I hold our shared experiences close to my heart.
