Hello! My name is Nandanine Gordon, and I am a proud teacher residing in Wakenaam, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our rivers and creeks, like the serene Upper Pom River and the vibrant Karawab Creek, has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich natural heritage. My roots run deep in this land, where the culture is as vibrant as the colors of our flag, and I strive to share that passion with my students each day.
As a member of the diverse Guyanese community, I embrace the fusion of cultures that defines our nation—from the hearty dishes of pepperpot and cook-up rice to the lively celebrations of Phagwah and Mashramani. I cherish my connections with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad, and I often reminisce about the lively debates between Guyanese and Trinidadians that remind us of our unique identities, despite our similarities.
