Hello! I'm Naomi Halley, a dedicated teacher from the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant community, where the lush landscapes meet the heart of our culture. Whether it's sharing a plate of pepperpot or savoring a hearty meal of metemgee, I take great pride in our culinary heritage. There’s nothing quite like the taste of home, and I always enjoy expressing that love through my cooking and teaching.
As an educator, I strive to inspire my students to appreciate not only their heritage but also the beauty of our diverse world. I often bring elements of our local culture into the classroom, from lessons on our rich history to the unique rhythms of our music. I firmly believe that understanding our past and celebrating our traditions helps shape our future, much like the mighty Essequibo River that flows through our land.
Though I may be far from some of the diaspora communities, I cherish the connections we share.
