Greetings! I am Naresh Jagnanan, a proud resident of Wakenaam 62 Belle Plaine in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers that define our homeland has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural richness of our country. From the mouthwatering taste of pepperpot on Christmas morning to the lively sounds of the Tassa drums during festival celebrations, Guyana is more than just a place—it's a feeling that resonates in the heart.
I cherish the connections I’ve built with my fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora. Our community is filled with stories of resilience and joy, often shared over a plate of cook-up rice or while enjoying a cool drink of sorrel. Whether it’s a gathering to celebrate Diwali or a simple evening spent by the Essequibo River, these moments remind me of our shared heritage and the beauty of our diverse cultures, including those of our Chinese ancestry that have been part of our landscape since 1834.
