Greetings! Iām Narotam Bisnauth, a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful Garden Essequibo Coast. Growing up in Guyana, I find immense joy in sharing our rich heritage with my students, from the delectable flavors of cook-up rice and pepperpot to the stunning landscapes that surround us, like the tranquil Pomeroon River and the lush greenery of the Essequibo region.
As a proud Guyanese, I embrace our diverse culture, which is a blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and colonial influences. I believe that understanding our history, especially our ties to the Caribbean, is essential for our youth. It's fascinating to know that while many South Americans may not recognize the uniqueness of our nation, we, as part of the Caribbean community, carry a legacy that deserves celebration. Our capital, Georgetown, often referred to as the "Garden City of the Caribbean," reflects this vibrancy and connection to nature, offering a unique backdrop for our lives.
